Mendo Breath

Overview

Mendo Breath is an indica-dominant strain from Gage Green Genetics, bred by crossing OG Kush Breath (OGKB) with Mendo Montage. It became a West Coast favorite in the late 2010s for its sweet, caramel-like aroma and calming effects, and it has gone on to parent several popular strains, including Peanut Butter Breath via the Mendo Breath F2 line. Potency is typically reported around the low-to-mid 20s THC. Lineage and origin OGKB is a Girl Scout Cookies selection known for dense, frosty buds and a savory, earthy profile. Mendo Montage is a Gage Green strain with roots in Mendocino County genetics, which contributes sweetness and color. Together they produced a compact, resin-rich plant with a dessert-style aroma and a heavy, soothing finish. Aroma and flavor The nose is sweet and creamy, often described as caramel and vanilla with a fresh mint lift and an earthy kush base. The smoke is smooth and sugary on the inhale, with a light herbal, slightly nutty exhale. Effects and typical experience Mendo Breath tends to begin with a gentle, happy euphoria before a deep, physically relaxing body high sets in. Many consumers find it calming for both mind and body, and larger amounts often lead to sleepiness. Dry mouth and dry eyes are commonly reported. Who it suits and when people use it This is primarily an evening or nighttime strain, popular for unwinding, relaxing at home, or easing into sleep. Its sweet flavor and mellow mood make it a common pick for people who prefer relaxation over stimulation. Terpene notes Caryophyllene, myrcene, limonene, and linalool are frequently associated with Mendo Breath. Myrcene and linalool are often linked to its soothing reputation, while caryophyllene and limonene add pepper and citrus nuances. Growing notes Mendo Breath is usually considered moderately difficult. Plants stay fairly short and bushy, flowers are dense and frosty, and flowering takes about eight to nine weeks. Cooler night temperatures late in bloom can bring out purple coloration. Similar strains If you enjoy Mendo Breath, compare it with Peanut Butter Breath, a descendant with a nuttier profile, and with OGKB, its Cookies-family parent. Other sweet, relaxing evening strains such as Purple Urkle or London Pound Cake may also appeal if you favor calming effects over stimulation. Responsible use Sedating strains are best used when you have nowhere to be. Start with a small amount, don't mix with alcohol, and never drive after use.
